Welcome to the official website of The Ship. Yes, it's still in 2010, and decidedly unfancy.
The Ship is was a Community House from March 1, 2010 to February 28, 2025, in the Harvard Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.
You
could have lived
here maybe.
We're cleaning everything out, and the Captain is doing severe downsizing.
You need a living room couch? We got that!
Need a couch for your porch? We got that!
Need a coffee table, or a giant box you can put coffee OR in? Improbably, WE GOT THAT!
Need a patio table? I hope you like round! Oh, you don't?! Boom, we got a square one, too!
Need a mattress? A dog bowl? Seven nearly empty bottles of laundry detergent?
Need a 30-40 inch TV? 720P-1080P? One of them with an arm wall mount? That's oddly specific, but we got that!
A 1080P, self-leveling, self-focusing projector with a giant real screen (10 ft wide, maybe)? We got that-- but not for free!
Outdoor curtains? Hell yeah! We got 14 panels of super-red outdoor curtains (visible in one of the pics)!
Convinced yourself you'd be in shape if you could just walk while you watch movies or mess around on the computer? Homemade treadmill desk! It's a real walking treadmill and then an Ikea standing desk, completely separate, so no motion transfer! It only has about 1,000 miles on it. Please take it away!
Too hot? Thinking of the hot climate-changed summers ahead? Why not get yourself a portable AC? (portable because it's on wheels, but weighs 80 lbs) I have TWO Whynter ARC-14S, one about five years old, the other less than one year and barely used. You gotta be able to move them yourself! Look it up, if you want. It's dual hose (more efficient) and puts out 53° air. They have an IR remote, but no native Alexa/Google integratioon. However, you can get around this with something like a Broadlink RM-4 (a wifi universal remote-- $25! Actually, I'll give you my RM-3 if you want!)
Need computer stuff? I have too many of everything! I have an incredible AM-5 (or is it 4) motherboard for Ryzen CPUs. It's barely beeen used-- I thought there was an issue with it, and replaced it, but the problem wasn't the mobo. It's an Asus P670E. I also have an older i7 PC with 32GB RAM, but no drives in it. I have 1070Ti in it. It's probably worth it for the case alone (soundproofed and solid).
You need a way to keep food and drinks cold?! I recommend a refrigerator! And we have at least two that you can just have! Fer free! The catch is that we won't be cleaning them and you gotta move 'em out yourself! But they contain inscrutible grafitti and magnets!
We have a lot more random house stuff, so if you don't see it, we might still have it. Ask.
Friday afternoon, the stuff that remains will be headed to the street!
Check out the pictures-- forgive some of them being so weird; I was taking pics for AI to make a ToDo list for me.
If there's anything in the pics you're curious about, please reach out!

I can probably take more pics if needed; just ask.
